Prepare for Your Appointment With Our Office Policies

Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Associates, LLP was established in 1986, and we have over 35 years of experience with pulmonary care and sleep medicine. We are highly experienced, and our providers are here for you in Stockbridge and Fayetteville, GA. You can turn to us as the only accredited sleep center in the southern part of Atlanta.

Scheduling is easy, and for our sleep center we offer telehealth consultations and sleep lab appointments 7 days a week. Call now for an appointment or keep reading to learn about our policies.

Appointment Policies

Your appointment will start at your designated time, not your arrival time. If you do not show up for your appointment without proper notice, you will be responsible for a no-show fee. The office requires a patient to notify us of any cancellation within 24 hours prior to the appointment, or the patient will be responsible for a non-cancellation fee.

If you are sick, please call our office as early in the morning as possible, and we will make every effort to see you that day. However, please remember that we must honor our previously scheduled appointments. All regularly scheduled appointments will be taken before you. Even though we will try to get you in, you may experience a longer than normal wait to see a physician and be evaluated.

Please do not just walk in and expect to be seen. You may make the trip only to find that we do not have a doctor in the office. There are multiple providers seeing patients during regular office hours. We always recommend calling first.

Insurance Policies

At Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Associates, LLP, insurance will be filed on all verified policies. Since many insurance benefits change frequently, we ask that you present your current insurance card at each visit. Failure to give the proper insurance information may result in the patient being responsible for the entire visit.

You are responsible for knowing your insurance benefits and following them. If your insurance company requires you to have a referral to see us, you are responsible for obtaining that referral. Our friendly office staff members will try to remind and assist you, but ultimately it is your responsibility.

Please understand that it is your responsibility to pay your co-pay, co-insurance, deductible, and all other balances deemed patient responsibility at the time of service. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, personal checks, and cash. Please make sure you have one of these payment options with you at each visit.

Financial Responsibility

Financial responsibility belongs to the patient. If the patient is not legally responsible for their care, then the responsibility for payment falls on the parent or legal guardian. This applies to children and other dependents.

Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Associates, LLP wants to give our patients the very best care possible. We do not want our patients to go without medical care due to financial reasons. If you can't pay for your medical care, you may call our patient account representatives prior to a visit, and they will be happy to discuss payment options with you so you can get the care you need.

Check Return Policy

We understand that everyone makes mistakes. However, due to the fact that the bank is now imposing a fee on us for each returned check, we must pass that fee on to you. In the event your check is returned to us, our patient account representatives will call you and a $25 fee will be added to your account. If a second check is returned, you will be asked for credit card or cash payments only.

Prescription Policies

Prescription refills will not be authorized after hours. If you need a refill, have your pharmacy call our office. This way, we can be sure the proper medication is prescribed. You should call your pharmacy before you run out of your medication.

We do not recommend going to the pharmacy directly for a refill. Even if your pharmacy calls us directly during your visit, your provider may not be available to approve the refill. Only your doctor can approve your refill.

Nurse Practitioner Policies

Nurse practitioners are used in daily patient care at Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Associates, LLP. The NPs are supervised by physicians and are here to help provide our patients with the best possible care experience.

General Policy Notes

If you have placed a call for one of the physicians to contact you after hours, please deactivate your Caller ID Block.

For hospital patients, please know that our physicians cover for each other during hospital calls. The physician you normally see in the office or that admitted you to the hospital may not be the provider you see during your stay. Fortunately, all of our physicians are experienced and qualified to provide excellent care.

All lab test results will be communicated to you once the physician has reviewed them. This process may take up to two weeks.

Thank you in advance for adhering to the office policies at Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Associates, LLP. We look forward to helping you today!
